Journal Entry #3: Goals

Last year I really wanted an Ipod but i did not have any money. My brother said I would never get enough money to buy it. Later that month I got a job and then had my birthday so I had even more money. Then after two months of saving I went to the store and bought an Ipod!

I will (S) Sell my old ipod and get the latest one by Oct. 10 by doing the following:
(M) I will work harder at my job to get more money
(A) I will work for one month then sell my ipod for the other half of the money
(R) When I have no homework I will be trying to sell my ipod
(T) I will buy the new ipod by Oct. 10
(S) My friends will help me with my job

Issues - Euthanasia

I think that Euthanasia should be legalized but someone should make a list of injuries or illnesses that apply so people aren't killing themselves when they are depressed and suicidal. Also if the person cannot speak for themselves the doctor has to get permission from parents and/or next of kin before he pulls the plug. The reason I think I think it should be legalized it because if someone is in a lot of pain they are going to try to kill themselves anyway but if a doctor assists it wont be messy and even more distressing for the family. There are some reasons though that I would say no to euthanasia. I think that many people would be very angry if it was legalized because there are religions that say they can’t commit suicide so for everyone else to go and do it would upset them.

Journal Entry #1 - Against Values

A time when I went against my values was when I was little and I went to my friends house. I said I would be back by 5:30. When it came to 5:30 i said to myself that I would go home after just one more game and just kept on stalling and stalling. When I finally got home I felt really bad because I valued trust and now my parents did not trust me.

Another time I broke something of my mom's. I felt really bad but I decided to tell my mom so she would trust me. After i told her she wasn't mad at all she was just happy that I was honest. I was very relieved.

1. I agree with the man with black hair and glasses who said "When you are trying to get something it does not matter if you get it or not its the journey that counts." I agree with this value of knowledge because without knowledge you can't get anywhere in life.

2. I feel todays values cannot be the same as yesterdays value system because nowadays we are exposed to alot more than our parents because of television and internet.

3. I think a value that everyone values is friendship because everyone can't live without being accepted by others.
